Wtaps AW21 Showcases Tetsu Nishayama’s Love of Military Garb

End

WTAPS often looks to military garb to inspire its collections, and AW21 is no exception.

WTAPS is synonymous with utilitarian design. Since the label was founded in 1996, it’s served as a reflection of Tetsu Nishiyama’s love of vintage Americana and military garb; fabrics, details and colour palettes are all meticulously chosen and act as reference points to archival pieces.

AW21 is no exception, with the label continuing its distinctive approach to design. The military-inspired aesthetic is immediately clear when it comes to the outerwear — there are jackets, vests and overshirts that all mimic classic military garments, with functional details and a heavy number of pockets.

The label’s usual earthy hues feature throughout the collection, with olive drab and beige to really drive home Nishiyama’s utilitarian look.
