Celebrating END.’s 15th Anniversary, the British retailer has teamed up with premier utilitarian innovators, Carhartt WIP, to share the “Greyscale” collection.
Paying homage to the rich heritage of the iconic brand, the “Greyscale” capsule dives headfirst into the history of Carhartt WIP. Founded 100 years after Hamilton Carhartt established the legendary Detroit-based brand in 1889, Carhartt WIP built upon the brand’s offering, initially for a European audience. Carefully adapting Carhartt’s signature workwear aesthetic for an audience dedicated to forward-thinking and expressive style, the Carhartt WIP line encapsulated the brand’s steadfast cultural cachet.
Citing the historic decision by Carhartt WIP to create the colour “Blacksmith” – an attempt at unifying the various of shades that came from Carhartt’s suppliers, for a more fashion-conscious audience – END. and Carhartt WIP present a collection that is an ode to the plethora of shades seen throughout Carhartt WIP’s history and the unique patina of the brand’s fabrics as they age and develop over time.
Featuring dual-branded details, Carhartt WIP’s iconic “C” emblem fuses with END.’s classic text logo for a twist on familiar codes. Applied across a range of pocket tees, hoodies, sweats and accessories, this new take on a timeless logo delivers a modern and progressive attitude to design.
Centring around a unique take on the Michigan Chore Coat, the collection’s key piece, END. and Carhartt WIP memorialise the brand’s important history, embellishing the instantly recognisable utilitarian essential with patch pockets in four different shades of grey and the collaboration’s bespoke woven brand patch to the left chest pocket. The END. x Carhartt WIP “Greyscale” collection is available for registration online now via END. Launches.
